Whats New In Internet News?

I recently picked up the Website Magazine and they mentioned some news items I thought I would share with you:

Facebook Out-Ranks Yahoo!

-Yup, by the end of January 2010 Facebook had more visitors than YAHOO! and is now the #2 most visited site on the web. This just is a reminder that we need social media in our marketing.

Google Buzz “Ehh”

-So I am sure you have seen or heard about this Google Buzz. Im not really impressed. Although it is google’s version of Twitter, in its 1st few days they recorded 9 million post and comments created.
-Its supposed to be a new way to engage the people your gmail and gchat with the most. The only problem is that it can only be done with poeple who use gchat.

Bing Gets Into SEO?

-They created a tool called IIS SEO Tool Kit. It includes a Site Analysis Module, Robots Exclusion Module, and a Sitemaps and Site Indexes module.
-The tools allow webmasters to perform analysis and offer recommendations and editing tools for managing files.(Check it out)

Twitter is No Longer Growing

-Thats right guys 13% growth in March 2009 - 3% growth in October 2009
-The international traffic has flattened. It looks like American Tweet more than others
-However Exisiting users are more engaged than ever before. Average Twitter user(according to hubspot):
Has 300 followers(july 09 average was 170)
Follows 173 (july 09 average was 47)
Has posted 420 Updates (july 09 average was 119)
