Phase Two: MAINTAINING YOUR BRAND

“When analyzing your website (social media, blog, videos & Landing pages), product literature, or advertising, answer the following questions to ensure consistency in the quality of your brand identity:

-Is this material unique(color scheme or banner, for example) to the brand or is there a chance that it will be confused with brand element of the competition?- This is why I say Don’t copy. Chances are the people who are following you have been following your mentors or people you look up to. They see you copy and they will unfollow and see you as less valuable.

-Is this material used consistently across all current marketing channels?- in other words keep the same profile picture on all social networks for congruency.

-Is the material memorable, but in line with the heritage or history of the brand? People tend to remember things that are out of the ordinary- Do elements exist that can be tied back to the brand? You want interesting post titles that grab readers attention but you want to make sure that the post coincides with the title for you will turn people off! See: Free Blogging Techniques Training

-Is the material clear and understandable?- Make sure that you write like you talk but you don’t want your readers to be turned off. Don’t try to use big words and make this a college essay.

-Is the material honest and truthful, making genuine representations in line with the promises of the brand?- Do not inflate numbers or make outrageous claims. In this industry you always want to under promise and over deliver. This goes a long way with your prospects.

-Is the material professional, yet personal, and does it express the values and benefits of the brand? As I said before be yourself but make sure you stay congruent with your overall message. Every post should express the value of working with you directly.
